School of Technology

Dr. Niaz Latif, Dean, School of TechnologyWelcome to The School of Technology!!! On our campus you will feel incredible energy, determination and sense of purpose that infuses Purdue University Calumet.

We strive for program excellence through continuously improving our curricula that are connected to industry and businesses. The School of Technology has had a number of accomplishments that continue to enhance the degree programs. I would like to share a few with you:

  • Reorganization into three academic departments - Construction Science and Organizational Leadership, Engineering Technology, and Computer Information Technology and Graphics.
  • A new Master of Science in Technology degree that combines technical skills with management/supervisory expertise. This broad-based, flexible degree produces graduates who can enter the marketplace with a distinct and sought-after advantage.
  • Two faculty members - Jose A. Pena and Roy E. Evans from the Department of Construction Science and Organizational Leadership received Purdue Calumet’s 2008 Outstanding Faculty awards for Teaching and Service respectively.
  • Reshaped our Manufacturing Engineering Technology program into Mechatronics Engineering Technology. The program combines mechanical design, manufacturing and electrical control within a foundational context of packaging machinery.
  • Implementation of innovative experiential learning components to the curricula of all entering bachelor’s degree students. By embracing learning outcomes through internships, applied research with faculty, cooperative education, community service learning, cultural immersion/study abroad, design projects and practicums, students and society benefit.

Our graduates are well prepared for careers in their respective fields. They are prepared to enter into wide ranges of positions in industry, business and government. Placement rates of our graduates are excellent with local/regional/national industry and businesses.

Please explore and look for the program that interests you and let us help you prepare for the career of your choice. To learn more about our programs and a tour of our facilities, please call us at 219-989-3251.
