Candidate’s Name: Silus R. Simpson, Jr.

Major: Criminal Justice
Brief: Silus likes to play basketball, dance, and even considers himself to be an artist. He is involved in the Black Student Union and Vanity Modeling Troupe. Silus says, “I am a student of Purdue University Calumet, therefore I am already welcomed as royalty, winning this homecoming court position will only confirm my reign as King.”

Brief: When not at school this ECET student finds himself working on cars and stereos. He loves to spend time with his family, friends, and likes to draw. For two years, he has participated in Los Latinos, and is currently the Treasurer. Why should Miguel be PUC Royalty? “I would be an asset to PUC becoming part of the court becasue I can be a face to students to help them get involved on campus. I can also become a resource for new students looking for information about the campus since I have been involved in student organizations. PUC is like a home to me,” he replies.

Brief: Photography and traveling are among Charlotte’s favorite hobbies. She enjoys participating in College Mentors for Kids and the Criminal Justice Club. “I represent the model PUC Student as well as the modern PUC student. I work hard in school and stay involved in activities. I am the first person in my family to go to college, and am learning to make changes for a better future, for me, my family and those around me.”
