Open Lab Tutoring
Tutors are undergraduates and graduate students who assist fellow students with a variety of subjects including Math, English, Science, and Foreign Language. Open lab Tutoring sessions are mainly held in the Gyte Building rooms 104, 106, and 71. Students needing assistant can go to Gyte 102. Tutors work with the students in an effort to facilitate problem solving strategies and explain course-specific concepts. These walk-in services are free to all Purdue Calumet Students.

Perkins Private Tutoring
Perkins private tutoring sessions are one on one interactive sessions that are free to qualified Purdue Calumet students. To find out if you qualify for free private tutoring fill out an application and submitting it to SADC located in Gyte 102.

Community Private Tutoring
Community Private tutoring is offered to students and the surrounding communities. Community tutoring is one on one tutoring paid by students for a small fee.

What to Expect in a tutor sessions:
· You can schedule tutoring appointments in advance with your tutor, or walk in to any of the open lab sessions as seen on schedules.
· Sessions are very interactive, and tutors will lead you in doing your own work.
· Tutors will help you to become an independent, confident learner.
· Tutors will help you structure your work, and can help you discover your learning style.
What NOT to Expect in a tutor sessions:
· Tutors will not do your work for you, write, edit, or proofread your papers, or give you answers without asking you questions.
· Tutors will not re-teach the course material. You must attend class, do the assigned reading, and take notes to receive tutoring.
· Tutors will not be available only for study sessions before exams. You are expected to meet with your tutor every week.
