National Testing

The following National testing services are administered via Skills Assessment and Development Center on behalf of candidates throughout the year. As a means of enriching the learning experience of all students and community members while providing the assessments of academic skills for admission, placement, certifications, and licensure while providing the academic support to prepare students for success.

ACT

The ACT is Nationally recognized college entrance examination. This assessment measures skill in english, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning.

SAT

The SAT is also a Nationally recognized college entrance exam. The SAT is divided into two tests the Reasoning and Subject Test. The Language Subject Test with Listening is offered only in November.

Praxis

The Praxis Series assessments are used by colleges and universities for entry into Teacher Education programs.

Praxis I: Academic Skills Assessments are designed to be taken when beginning college to measure reading, writing, and mathematical skills.

Praxis II: Subject Assessments measure knowledge of teaching subjects

Praxis III: Classroom Performance Assessments are used to evaluate all aspects of a beginning teacher’s classroom performance.

CLEP

The CLEP (College Level Examination Program) is a 90 minute timed computerized exam that, if successfully passed, allows you to receive college credit. This service is provided for anyone wanting to receive college credits through CLEP which will be accepted by their college.

Purdue students taking the CLEP need to check with their advisor to get information on which CLEP tests will be accepted for a particular degree.CLEP exams are taken on appointment basis only. Testing times are Mon. – Thurs, 10am-1pm in Gyte 104

TOEFL
The Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) is the worlds most widely accepted english language test.  SADC administers the TOEFL to students during the year.

GRE
The GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) Test are taken by individuals applying to graduate schools. This test measures achievement in specific subjects areas and assumes the student has majored in the subject or has extensive background in those disciplines.

MFT

The Major Field Test is a test designed to measure the basic knowledge and understanding achieved by senior undergraduates in their major field of study. The test content is designed to assess matery of concepts, priniciples, and knowledge. In additoiion it evaluates students ability to analyze, solve problems, interpret material and understand relationships.

ACE

SADC host the ACE (The American Council on Exercise) fitness exams to candidates throughout the year. The ACE is one of the largest fitness certification, education training programs in the world.
