Student Computing Resources Home

The computing resources offered to student through CTIS are numerous and varied. They include, but are not limited to, Wireless Network Access, ResNet – the University Villages’ networking system, student computer labs, Netmail – the stuident e-mailing system, and student Webpage publishing.

  1. Main Computer Lab – The Main Computer lab, located in the main floor of the Powers building (Powers 115), is the unit of CTIS that provides the majority of the open computers available for student use.
  2. Open Access Computers – The university offers open computers available for use by students. This page displays the list of some of the areas that have computers open for use.
  3. CTIS Operations – CTIS Operations is the “brains of the operation” for CTIS.
  4. CTIS Customer Service Center – The CTIS Customer Service Center (CSC) is the unit of CTIS that is responsible for service requests being logged, assigned to other CTIS units, and tracked.
  5. eCourses – The eCourses unit is in charge of anything and everything related to Blackboard Learning Systems Vista on the Purdue University Calumet and ACLT (Academic Learning Center) campuses.
  6. TechAid – (Technical Assistance is a students guide to technology). All students enrolled at Purdue University Calumet, have access to a variety of technical resources and services, the majority of which are described in this page.
  7. Publish a Website – If you are interested in developing a personal website, you can publish your site using your H-drive.
  8. Wireless Access – If you have a laptop computer or PDA that has wireless capabilities you can access CalNet, the university’s wireless network.
  9. Netmail – (email for students) Purdue University Calumet provides you an individual email account in our NetMail system with 10 MB of space for messages.
  10. Online Courses (VISTA) – The course management system used on campus is Blackboard Vista.
  11. PC STAR – Purdue Calumet Student Access to Records (PC STAR) is the system where you can check your financial aid status, register for classes, check your schedules, update your personal information, review your transcript, and many other things.
  12. Personal Network (H:) Drive – You have 25 MB of storage space available to you on the network to store your important files. This space to store your files is referred to as your H-Drive.
  13. ResNet – ResNet is the residential computer network service provided to students living at University Village.
  14. Academic Learning Center – On-site Resource Center/Access to PUC Library, fitness center, and Student lounge space/study areas.
  15. GoPrint – GoPrint is a print management system currently implemented in campus computer labs as of the fall 2007 semester.
