Scantron is a quick way to automatically grade multiple choice and True/False type tests. Scantron also provides numerous reports for your test. This includes grade distribution reports, item analysis reports, and individual student test reports using the Par Score program.
In order to use the Scantron, students must use a score sheet (shown below) to mark their answers. In addition, Instructors will need to fill out a score sheet with the correct answers to use as a scoring key. Instructors can use up to four versions of the same test by using a separate scoring key for each version as well as marking the correct test form version, A-D. Additionally, when using multiple versions, students will need to mark the test form version as well.
You now have two options for scoring your Scantron test forms, Self-service and Full-service.
Full Service Scoring: Your test will be scored for you and available for you to pick up at your convenience. Just fill out the drop-off form and stop by CTIS Operations in Powers 218. If you can’t make it during regular hours, no problem. There’s even a after hours drop box.
Self-Service Scoring: If you want immediate results to your test, you can stop by the OIT Lab in Gyte 135 and score your own tests without the wait. Complete instructions are provided for doing it yourself. The OIT staff are also trained to be able to assist with operating the equipment and printing the results.
If you would like more information about using Scantron Test Scoring for your class, please speak with your department secretary first. Then speak with personnel is CTIS Operations (Powers 216) or Room Gyte 135 about scoring and reporting options.
