Thinking of dropping a class?

Read here about how dropping a class affects your Financial Aid at Purdue Calumet.

Financial Aid Refunds

The University has begun issuing financial aid refunds to students for the Fall 2010 semester.  Refunds are issued to students who have refundable aid remaining after payment of their tuition and fees.  These refunds are issued via the mail (paper check) or E-refunding (ACH)*.  Click here for more information.

Fall 2010 Financial Aid Deferments

Available July 26, 2010 through September 22, 2010

You have a responsibility to pay for the classes for which you are registered by the Fall 2010 payment deadline.  If you have submitted your FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and released your FAFSA to Purdue Calumet for the 2010-11 aid year, but your awards are not yet finalized, you have the option to apply for a financial aid deferment by enrolling in an NBS/FACTS Deferment Payment Plan.

This financial aid deferment:

  • Represents a commitment on your part to pay for the classes for which you are registered.
  • Guarantees your enrollment (saves your classes).
  • Extends the time you may need to complete your financial aid file and pay for the outstanding balance on your account, if any.
  • Allows time for your financial aid application (FAFSA) to be processed.

Verification for 2010-2011 (Request for Information from Students)

The request for information and/or documents from students to complete their financial aid file for 2010-2011 continues on a daily basis. The priority deadline for receipt of requested information and/or documentation from students was July 1, 2010 for the fall semester. Students must check PCSTAR along with their personal and PUC email on a regular basis to monitor their financial aid status.

The Office of Financial Aid and Student Accounts now communicates with students strictly by electronic means.

In an effort to become more efficient, improve overall operations, and protect valuable resources, we have moved from paper to strictly electronic communications.

Therefore, on a DAILY basis, it is VERY IMPORTANT for students to do the following:

  • Check your PUC email and your personal email (as provided by you on your FAFSA) for important messages from our office.
  • Check PCSTAR (Purdue Calumet Student Access to Records) for important messages and to review any documents that may be required from you at this time.
  • Continue to view processing reminders and helpful tutorials to assist you with navigating through PCSTAR here on our home page.
