Retired Purdue Boilermakers men’s basketball coach Gene Keady made many trips to Northwest Indiana during his coaching days. Recently, (9/8), he returned to be honored as Purdue University Calumet’s inaugural Honorary Peregrine.

The Purdue University Calumet Fitness Center has been designated an official site of the nationally recognized SilverSneakers Fitness Program for older adults.
The SilverSneakers Program endorses a combination of physical activity, healthy lifestyle and classes, seminars and other socially-rich programming to help older adults advance good health. (more…)

In anticipation of its Nov. 9 Fall Frolic 4-Mile Run, Purdue University Calumet’s Fitness Center will host the seminar, “What You Need to Know with Two Weeks to Go,” Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. in Room 129 of the university’s Fitness & Recreation Center.

Three Purdue University Calumet fitness management students have received $1,000 scholarships for the 2008-09 academic year.
Junior Rachel Hofer of Whiting has received the Jennie Hamilton Endowed Scholarship. Senior Dea Mayo of Munster and junior Corri Priebe of Schererville are John Friend Scholarship recipients. (more…)
