Purdue Calumet hosts Veterans Day convocation Wednesday (11/11)

Purdue University Calumet will host a Veterans Day program featuring remarks, music and refreshments, Wednesday (11/11) at 10 a.m. in Alumni Hall of the university’s Student Union & Library.

Tuskegee Airman Quentin Smith, Commander Sgt. Major Chess, and Mayors Thomas McDermott Jr. of Hammond and Rudolph Clay of Gary will offer remarks. Trumpeters and the New Hope Choir of Hammond will provide musical selections. Refreshments will be served following the two-hour program.

Seats are being reserved for military service personnel and veterans. Those who desire to attend are invited to phone 219/989-2779.

The convocation is sponsored by Purdue Calumet’s From Boots to Books: Veterans and Service Members Academic Support Program and the Veterans Enlisted Student Association.

Purdue Calumet’s Student Union & Library is located one-third mile north of Interstate 80/94 to 173rd Street, three blocks east of Indianapolis Boulevard to the traffic light, north into a free parking lot.
