A world respected Purdue University education is available at Purdue University Calumet in nearby Hammond, Ind., and university officials are inviting prospective students from Illinois to visit campus and learn more during Illinois High School Student Visit Days.
November visit days are:
• Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Saturday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and
• Monday, Nov. 30, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The visits will begin at University Village II at the south end of campus off 173rd Street.
Other Saturday visit days are scheduled Dec. 12 and Jan. 16, both at 9 a.m.

“Nearly 800 students from Illinois communities attend Purdue Calumet,” Region Admissions Recruiter Robert Fitzpatrick said. “An important influence in the college decision-making process is a campus visit. We believe Illinois high school juniors and seniors and their families who visit our campus and explore opportunities for earning a Purdue degree will come away impressed.”
A comprehensive regional university within the Purdue University system, Purdue Calumet offers associate, baccalaureate and master’s degrees in some 100 fields of study, including traditional Purdue strengths of engineering; technologies; sciences; professional programs of business/management, nursing and education; and liberal arts.
More than 10,000 students attend Purdue Calumet, which offers a 17-building, 167-acre neighborhood campus, located 25 miles southeast of downtown Chicago, three miles east of the Indiana-Illinois state line, one-third mile north of Interstate 80/94 and three blocks east of Indianapolis Boulevard.
The Purdue Calumet campus also provides residential living in apartment suites featuring private bedrooms, semi-private bathrooms, and kitchen and living room space.
