Dr. Cherry received his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Minnesota and is currently an Associate Professor of Sociology and Associate Director of the Gerontology Center at Purdue University Calumet. He joined the faculty of Purdue University Calumet in 1987. His teaching areas include Medical Sociology, Social Gerontology, Family Sociology, and Social Organization. Professor Cherry is currently doing research on the use by older people of information on community health and human services, and comparative structures of health care regulations.
