Focus Group Overview

The Survey Research Center is conducting focus groups as the first phase of a comprehensive campus climate assessment of Purdue University Calumet. In these focus groups, we would like to get your opinions on various aspects of campus climate as they relate to your life and work at PUC. Focus group sessions will be held in the evening during the month of October at the off-campus Entrepreneurship Center (E-Center) located at 1247 E. 169th Street in Hammond. You will be compensated $20 for your participation in your respective group.

We are inviting all faculty and staff members of the PUC community to participate in this focus group activity. For research purposes, we are convening specific focus groups for the following categories: Faculty-Male; Faculty-Female; Staff-Male; Staff-Female; Black/African-American; Latinos; members of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered (GBLT) community; people with disabilities; and those who work at PUC who were born in a country other than the United States.

Focus group activities will begin each evening at 6:30 p.m. with an overview of the process and the signing of participant consent forms. The focus group itself will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. and last 90 minutes. There is ample, secure parking available at the E-Center.

Every means for the assurance of confidentiality and anonymity of participant responses will be taken.

If you wish to participate in one of these focus groups or want further information, please contact the Survey Research Center at (219)989-3145 or email us at campusclimate@calumet.purdue.edu.
