New IM: Twinkie Eating

A new intramural will be introduced this fall: Twinkie eating!!
On Tuesday, September 23rd at 7pm in the PUC Gym participants will participate in the 1st annual intramural eating contest. Participants will be given 2 minutes and 2 boxes of twinkies to eat. Here is the catch. The first box, all 10 twinkies will be unwrapped, the second box of ten will be wrapped. The winner will recieve a plaque and will be known as the Kobayashi of Purdue Cal.
Also be on the look out for Twinkie the Kid who will be roaming around campus the first two weeks of school handing out Twinkies and promoting this event.
This will bring the total to 41 intramural activities offered here at PUC. For more info on this or any intramural activity stop by the fitness center or call 989-2050.

Below is the list of the 2008 Intramural Schedule. For any team sport, if you don’t have a team we will add you to a team. All entry forms can be picked up at the PUC Fitness Center.

Dodgeball Dates: Sept. 4th/8th & 11th
Time: 7:30 – 9pm
Location: PUC Gym
**Open play format (Just show-up & play)

Bocce Ball Date: Sept. 9th at 6:30pm
Location: Grassy area between Gyte & Lawshe
*This event is part of the intramural info series
*You will learn how to play the game

Home Run Derby Date: Sept. 10th at 7pm
Location: PUC Gym
*We will be using wiffleballs

4 on 4 Flag Football Starts: Sept. 15th
Location: PUC Gym
**All games will be played on Monday & Wednesday nights
Entry Deadline: Sept. 11th

Frisbee Golf (Frolf) Date: Sept. 16th at 7pm
Location: Knickerbocker Park (2 blocks west of campus on 173rd)
**We will be using glow-in-the dark Frisbees
Entry Deadline: Sept. 15th

Co-ed Volleyball Starts: Sept. 18th
Location: PUC Gym
**All games to be played on Thursday nights
Entry Deadline: Sept. 15th

Eating Contest (New) Date: Sept. 23rd at 7pm

Intramural brownie baking competition stirs local interest

The intramural brownie baking competition was recently featured in the local newspaper. Matt Dudzik, Intramural Sports Coordinator, arranged the browine baking competition to show that intramural sports at Purdue University Calumet extends beyond traditional sports.

National Intramural Recreational Sports Association recognizes innovation at PUC
