Purdue University Calumet is part of the internationally respected Purdue University System. Purdue is a public university system, which encourages international students to apply for admission on their own and not to pay for educational agency.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements

The following requirements must be met to apply to Purdue University Calumet. Note: If you did not take or have low English testing scores (see below) for entry into a degree seeking major, you may still be eligible for the English Language Program (ELP).

  2. You must submit official academic transcripts from an accredited secondary school and also a true and attested English translation.
  3. You must prove proficiency in the English language by achieving one of the following (ELP students do not need to establish English proficiency):
    1. A TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign Language) score of 550, paper and pencil test, or 79, internet Based TOEFL (iBT).
    2. A grade of at least a B in English at the ordinary level of G.C.E. (General Certificate of Education) or G.C.S.E. (General Certificate of Secondary Education).
    3. A scholastic aptitude test (SAT) verbal score of 480 or greater.
    4. Transferable credit from an accredited US institution of higher education equivalent to Purdue University Calumet’s ENGL 104, English Composition course.
    5. An IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Score of 6.5.

If you have attended any other college or university and plan to transfer credit hours to Purdue University Calumet as an undergraduate student, you must complete the Transfer Credit Documentation Sheet (www.calumet.purdue.edu/admissions/tcds.pdf), submit a $30.00 (US) transfer credit evaluation fee and original academic transcripts from an accredited college or university.

Graduate Admission Requirements

  1. Apply for graduate admissions at www.calumet.purdue.edu/gradschool/ – Application fee is $55. U.S. Dollars. (Graduate applicants must apply online).
  2. You must submit official academic transcripts from an accredited college or university (both original language and true and attested English translations). Provisional diplomas are not accepted.
  3. You must prove proficiency in the English language by achieving one of the following (ELP students do not need to establish English proficiency). See #3 of undergraduate requirements. Note: Graduate admission requires minimum sub-score on Internet-based TOEFL of Writing 18, Speaking 18, Listening 14 and Reading 19 for total 77.Note: Graduate admission is granted by your academic department. Applicants ordinarily will be expected to hold baccalaureate degrees from colleges or universities of recognized standing prior to registration as graduate students. Three-year Bologna bachelor’s degree recipients are eligible for admission. Applicants for a master’s program should have achieved a 3.0 grade point index or higher for the baccalaureate degree or have other academic indices indicating superior performance.Graduate Admissions and International Student Services
