1976 John N. Johnson (Engineering) BS, was elected corporate officer for Intel Corporation by its Board of Directors. John is Vice President and Chief Information Officer responsible for Intel’s Information Technology organization. The organization, comprised of 5,500 IT professionals in more than 50 countries, provides IT solutions and support to more than 85,000 employees worldwide. John joined Intel in 1981. |
1979
Timothy Heady (Accounting) BS, was appointed to the board of directors at the Center for Diagnostic Imaging, a national outpatient imaging company in Minneapolis, MN. Tim is CEO of UnitedHealth Pharmaceutical Solutions, a business unit of Twin Cities-based UnitedHealthcare that provides pharmacy benefits and management for employers, commercial and government, representing more than 16 million individuals and $10 billion in prescription drug spending annually. He joined UnitedHealthcare in November 2001, relocating from Chicago where he was Vice President of Customer Operations for Searle/Pharmacia’s U.S. business.
Barb Kapp (Finance and Econ.) BS, MSED (PU W. Laf. 2005); in June 2008 was named Interim Associate Athletics Director for Marketing, Ticketing and Technology, effective July 1, at Purdue University in West Lafayette, where she previously served as Associate Athletics Director.
1981
Rebecca Stankowski (English) BA, PhD (Education, W. Laf.) 2007; recently accepted the position of Executive Director, Multidisciplinary Studies and Learning Outcomes Assessment for the School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (LASS) at Purdue University Calumet. As Executive Director, she will proactively cultivate, supervise, direct and manage a wide variety of multicultural and interdisciplinary initiatives in the School, including the integration of ESL program activities, experiential learning, Women’s Studies, study abroad, Ethnic Studies and team-teaching. She will also support LASS department heads and faculty in continuous improvement initiatives and direct the School’s learning outcomes assessment activities.

Cynthia Walsh (Computer Tech) AS 1983, BS; has been appointed by Governor Mitch Daniels to a two-year term on the Board of Trustees of the Indiana Public Employees’ Retirement Fund (PERF). She formerly was a member of the Indiana State Teachers’ Retirement Fund (TRF) Board. Cyndi is Vice President and Chief Financial officer for National Bond and Trust, a national benefits provider which offers U.S. Savings Bonds and employee benefits through payroll deduction to employees of corporations and municipalities across the country. Her career includes positions with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and Bank of America capital markets group. She is Principal and President of Walsh Financial Services and has served as an adjunct professor at Purdue University Calumet.
1989
Todd E. Mata (Accounting) BS, is Director of International Tax Planning for First Data Corporation in Greenwood Village, CO. He previously served as Director of Tax Reporting and Audit for Avery Dennison in Pasadena CA. In Todd’s current position, he has worked on the deal teams for $400 million in acquisitions, as well as the $29 billion leverage buy-out in 2007. Todd is also an adjunct professor of Accounting and Finance in the MBA program at Webster University.

Elisa Gonzalez Mata (Political Science) BA is an Instructor with Spanish Enrichment Inc. in Parker, CO. In her position, she teaches Spanish and English as a second language to children and adults.

1994 Kirtis Christensen (Electrical & Computer Engr. Tech) graduated December, 2007 with a Master’s Degree in Divinity from Southwestern Assemblies of God, which completed his chaplaincy requirements for the Indiana Army National Guard Reserve. He is serving a 12-month mobilization as a chaplain with the 76th Infantry Brigade at base Q-West in northern Iraq. His civilian job is at Raytheon Corp. as a senior software quality engineer. |

1995 W. Glenn Maxwell (Management) MS, has been appointed President of the Alloy Products business unit for Brush Engineered Materials, Inc. Glenn has senior management responsibility for Alloy Products’ manufacturing, technology, supply chair and commercial activities. With domestic manufacturing operations in Elmore and Lorain, Ohio and Reading, PA, Alloy manufactures and distributes high performance, copper-based, nickel-based and aluminum-based alloys primarily for use in the electronics, energy, aerospace, tooling, heavy equipment and telecommunications markets. The company also operates distribution centers in Detroit and Chicago. Since May, 2005, he has served as Vice President, Operations and Alloy Products. |

Cesar “Bud” Labitan (Management) MBA, published his first book, The Four Filters Invention of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger. Two Friends Transformed Behavioral Finance. Paperback. The book examines each of the basic steps Buffett and Munger perform in “framing and making” an investment decision, within “Behavioral Finance.” The book can be used as a supplemental textbook in a Valuation or Decision Sciences course.

Scott D. Fech (Education) MSED, accepted the position of Director of Staff Services for Grayslake Community High School District 127 near Gurnee, Ill., effective July 1. Since 2002, Scott has served as Principal of Bishop Noll Institute in Hammond.
Jennifer Hupke (English & Phil.) BA 1998, MA; recently accepted the position of Procurement and Special Projects Manager at Purdue University Calumet. She previously worked for five years at Easter Seals.

Jennifer Dinell-Humpfer (Behavioral Sci.-Early Childhood) AA 2004, (Teacher Preparation) BA, is a recent addition to the Purdue Alumni Association – Calumet Board of Directors. Jennifer is a 6th Grade Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher at Hobart Middle School, where she also serves as Girls Gymnastics Coach, Student Council Advisor, and Team Lead Sponsor.
Kathryn Kester (Communication & CA) BA, recently accepted the position of Communications Coordinator for Purdue Marketing Communications in West Lafayette, effective Sept. 8, 2008. Kathryn previously served as a Development and Public Relations Manager for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Porter County Convention and Visitor Commission.

Genevieve L. Vansteeg (Engineering) BS 2002, MS; is among three women engineers profiled in the article, “An Industry that Pays Dividends,” published in the spring 2007 issue of Woman Engineer magazine. In the article, Genevieve mentions that she earned her master’s degree while working at National Semiconductor. When offering advice to current students, she stressed the importance of being active on campus and referenced her serving as president of the Society of Women Engineers and IEEE at Purdue Calumet.

Her responsibilities include facilitation and coordination of intercultural campus programming, incoming international students and study abroad.
Christine Camadeca (Communication & CA) BA 2003, MA; recently accepted the position of Coordinator of External Relations and Communication at Purdue University Calumet for the School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. In addition to teaching, Christine supports and coordinates School communication with alumni, current students, advisory board members, faculty, and other constituencies. Christine also acts as the School’s Website liaison with Academic Affairs, and she will serve as initial contact for all student inquiries to the Dean’s Office.
