Wise Use of the Healthcare System
Powerpoint from March 5, 2009, Information Session

Need to go the Doctor? If you’re enrolled in the Incentive PPO or Purdue 500 plan effective July 1, 2008, you can save money by choosing a healthcare provider in the United Healthcare Options Network. This helpful link allows you to search for providers by location or name. Additionally, you may call UMR at 866-795-6382 for more information.

United Health Care Plan participants can find healthcare providers by visiting the UHC website. Once there, please choose “Find Physician or Facility” under Links and Tools on the right side of the screen.

Need a prescription? Anthem participating pharmacies would fill your prescription if you’re enrolled in the Incentive PPO or Purdue 500 plan. The prescription drug coverage link will provide you with very helpful information on this plan. Additionally, it provides information on the mail-order prescription plan for additional savings on maintenance drugs. UnitedHealthcare participants can access a prescription summary which will provide you with helpful information. UnitedHealthcare’s drug list can also prove to be a useful tool.

Need to know the participating labs for Incentive PPO and Purdue 500?  Incentive PPO and Purdue 500 participants at the Calumet campus can use any of the participating labs and receive a 100 percent benefit from the plan.  No deductible or coinsurance applies.   If lab work is drawn at your doctor’s office, and the doctor sends the lab work to one of the labs on this list, the processing will be covered at 100 percent.  Providers may join or leave provider networks throughout the year.  It may thus be a good idea to always check with the provider’s business office to see if the provider is participating within the network before any services are performed.

Need to schedule an eye exam? Review the Vision Service Plan to learn more about eye care coverage including VSP doctors who participate in our plan.
