What is Priority Placement?
Priority Placement is a traditional event that occurs every February in the first floor lobby of The University Village. Priority Placement is an event specifically planned for the benefit of current residents of The University Village. It is a time when current residents have one final opportunity to reserve a room in The University Village before new incoming residents have the opportunity to do so. Priority is given to current residents to apply and complete a housing contract for the next academic year.

Over the months of November and December, a new safety communication feature was added to The University Village community. The Purdue University Calumet Police Department (PUCPD) will now be able to alert residents using the new Emergency Notification System of pertinent emergency information and/or procedures, when necessary. Testing of the Emergency Notification System has occurred during specified testing periods in January and February. Administrators of the Department of Housing and Residential Education are very pleased with the new safety communication feature and with how well the system is working.
