David Ober, Senior Resident Assistant for the Department of Housing and Residential Education, was elected by the SGA Restructuring Committee to serve as the Interim President of the Student Government Association. We are very proud of David’s accomplishments and congratulate him on this recent leadership position!
The Department of Housing and Residential Education would also like to congratulate Raquel Perez, in her new role as Interim Vice President, as well as Steve Foreman, as the Interim Finance Secretary!

The Department of Housing and Residential Education congratulates the following student leaders who have been elected to The University Village Hall Council Executive Board for 2008-2009: Matthew Nicholes, President; Darshei Goode, Vice President; Samantha Bastien, Secretary; and Brandon Griffin, Publicist. The UVHC Executive Board attended UVHC Officer Training during the weekend of October 4th. Abbas Hill, Assistant Director and the advisor for UVHC, hosted the UVHC Officer Training Camp and was very impressed by the enthusiasm of the Executive Board members. Again, congratulations to our new Executive Board members!

The Department of Housing and Residential Education enthusiastically congratulates University Village Resident Brandon Griffin on his recent acceptance of the Promise of the Future Award. Brandon was one of only three young adults to receive the Promise of the Future Award on September 24, 2008, during the annual Quality of Life Awards Luncheon at the Majestic Star Casino South Shore Event Center in Gary, Indiana.

The Department of Housing and Residential Education teamed up with the Office of Student Activities to organize PUC’s 3rd Annual Luau. Students and staff members experienced a beautiful day on Saturday, August 23rd. The students enjoyed lunch, music, and some thrilling rounds of limbo. The students who attended and participated in the 3rd Annual Luau had a wonderful time!

Housing and Residential Education’s very own Senior Resident Assistant, David Ober, returned this summer from his internship in the Cognitive Psychology Group at Proctor & Gamble’s Headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. David’s internship responsibilities included creating in-store advertising and package design. For David, the best part of his internship experience was that he was able to meet many high-profile executives of Proctor & Gamble.
