Summer 2009 Graduate
Meidan Niu
Meidan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Meidan is our very first International Honors student to graduate.
Spring 2009 Graduates
Amber Follmer
Amber graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Amber also served as President of the Honors Association for two consecutive years. She recently passed her boards and is now an official Registered Nurse.
Jillian Vukas
Jillian graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in HDFS-Child & Family Services. Jil also served as the Events Director of the Honors Association.
Tyamo Okosun
Tyamo graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Tyamo, age 14, is the youngest graduate of the Honors Program. Tyamo was the recipient of the fall 2008 Purdue Alumni Association – Calumet (PAAC) Outstanding Student Award and represented her graduating class as the student speaker at commencements.
He looks forward to continuing his study in mechanical engineering and aerospace next fall as a Ph.D. student at Purdue’s West Lafayette campus. Among other accomplishments, Tyamo delivered a research presentation at one at South Africa’s University of KwaZulu Natal. Additionally, he has been a Purdue Calumet supplemental instructor in general thermodynamics and has demonstrated leadership involvement in various student organizations, including a stint as vice president of Purdue Calumet’s American Society of Mechanical Engineers student chapter. He also is a member of the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics, and was selected for inclusion in the 2008 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”
Laura Roach
Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Media-Public Relations. Laura served as Public Relations Director of the Honors Association.
Matthew Warner
Matthew graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Criminal Justice Option.
2008 Graduates
Sarah Parrish
Sarah graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a focus in biotechnology. Sarah was the recipient of the fall 2008 Purdue Alumni Association – Calumet (PAAC) Outstanding Student Award and represented her graduating class as the student speaker at commencements.
Sarah plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at John Hopkins University and eventually become a professor conducting research on epilepsy.
2007 Graduates
Otis Brewer III
Otis graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Resource Management. Otis was the recipient of the fall 2007 Purdue Alumni Association – Calumet (PAAC) Outstanding Student Award and represented his graduating class as the student speaker at commencements.
Otis earned a Master of Accountancy in the spring 2009 semester and is currently working at the Internal Revenue Service as a Special Agent.
Rasha Abed
Rasha graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Rasha also holds an Associate of Science in Business. Rasha is currently International Programs Coordinator here at PUC and pursuing her Masters in Business Administration.
Christopher Helm
Christopher graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. Christopher went on to earn his Master of Accountancy from the PUC Graduate Management Program.
