Yi Sun, a professor of history at the University of San Diego, will present her research on the effects of economic modernization on China’s working class women.

The talk will take place Thursday, Oct. 29 at 3:30 p.m. in YJean Chambers Hall (Student Library Building, Room 353). 

It is sponsored by the Center for Global Studies, the Department of History and Political Science, the Women’s Studies Program and Office of Research and Professional Development.

The Criminal Justice Club will hold a workshop on careers in corrections and prison operations on Tuesday, October 20 at 11 am in the Calumet Conference Center. 

Guest speakers include Bill Wilson, the Superintendent of Westville Prison and Mark Levenhagen, Superintendent of the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City.

The Calumet Conference Center is located at the south end of campus at 2300 173rd St. in Hammond.
