Mechatronics Engineering Technology Program Overview

A broad background in both electrical and mechanical areas along with internships will help you begin a great career designing, installing, and troubleshooting the complex equipment that produces and packages all of the items consumers purchase daily. The degree is also very valuable in the automotive and industrial areas as well. Graduates from this program are very mobile with career opportunities available nationwide.

Mechatronics Engineering Technology Bachelor of Science Program Educational Objectives:

The Mechatronics Engineering Technology Bachelor of Science program will produce graduates that:

  • Are prepared for successful careers in the areas associated with the fabrication, testing, documentation, operation, sales, and maintenance of basic automated mechatronic (electro-mechanical) systems.
  • Advance in their careers and continue their professional development.
  • Understand the overall human context in which engineering technology activities take place.
  • Are prepared for successful careers in the areas associated with the analysis, applied design, development, implementation, and oversight of advanced mechatronic (electro-mechanical) systems.

 Mechatronics students possess:

  • A wide interest base that includes both mechanical and electrical areas
  • Ability to develop practical solutions to challenging problems
  • A practical, hands-on aspect to learning
  • Ability to apply their knowledge to various problems in a direct, applied manner
  • Hobbies that involve working with their hands

Average salary for AS graduate:

  • Projected at $35,000 – $45,000 per year

Average salary for BS graduate:

  • Projected at $45,000 – $55,000 per year
