Industrial Engineering Technology Program Overview

Increased sophistication in technology and management systems is fueling the need for graduates with capabilities in both technology and business. IET students are usually interested in people and the environments in which they work. They are very practical and logical and often prefer a hands-on method of learning over the theoretical method.

Increased job openings will occur for Industrial Engineering Technology graduates as automation and modernization continue to be applied in business and industry.

Industrial Engineering Technology Bachelor of Science Program Educational Objectives:

The Industrial Engineering Technology Bachelor of Science program will produce graduates that:

  • Are prepared for career fields in the areas associated with the development, implementation, and improvement of integrated systems that include people, materials, information, equipment, and energy.
  • Advance in their careers and continue their professional development.
  • Understand the overall human context in which engineering technology activities take place.
  • Are prepared for successful careers in areas that require higher level system design, integration and management by utilizing specialty topics in the areas of project management, economic analysis, facility layout, and various other specialty topics in the areas of quality and/or manufacturing.

IET students possess:

  • Ability to solve technical problems
  • A practical, hands-on aspect to learning
  • Skill with hands-on applications
  • Ability to visualize the “big picture”
  • Independence, but self-discipline
  • An interest in business subjects as well as technology

Average salary for BS graduate:

  • $53,000 to $86,000
