Mechatronics Equipment Donation

Mechatronics Packaging Machine DonationThe packaging machine pictured in the above image was donated by Morrison Container Handling Solution. The machine uses programmable automation controllers and servo motors to orient containers four different ways. This machine uses the latest, state of the art automated equipment to perform these tasks. The machine will be used in ECET217, 262, 330, 362, and 462 as well as MET420.

Students will use the machine to learn advanced programming techniques, interfacing automated equipment, sensor design, machine design, and troubleshooting. Since this is a typical machine used in industry, use of this machine in class constitutes experiential learning, and students will be well prepared to design, install, and troubleshoot this type of equipment making them very valuable to employers.
