The Academy of Educational Leadership has given the Purdue Calumet Equine Business Management program its Distinguished Education Award to the program for Creative and Innovative Education. Dr. Conners accepted the award at the conference in Las Vegas on October 15, 2009.

The Boots and Bridles student organization has formed a new intercollegiate equestrian team and is pleased to announce that Sarah Haynes is the new coach of the team. Ray Schroeder was named the 2009 outstanding student for the Equine Management program at Purdue University Calumet. Ray was one of the first students to enter the program and has a 4.0 GPA. He also serves as the Vice-President for the student organization Boots and Bridles. Ray has also been a very strong supporter of the program.
