Pat ObiWhile lack of proper planning is a major reason for business failure, it is also often the case that poor financial management is at the heart of the problem. In fact, many businesses fail due to poor or non existent financial planning and cash management. Careful financial planning helps you avoid the unexpected problems of not covering your costs in a timely manner, running your business with insufficient cash, and paying too much to acquire a business or even a piece of equipment with which to run the business.

This course will teach you how to anticipate and avoid such problems by showing you how to perform simple financial planning, cash budgeting and cash management, cash flow estimation, investment valuation, and the cost of alternative means of financing your business.

  • Using financial ratios to analyze performance
  • Exercise on financial statement analysis
  • Cash management and cash budgeting
  • Financial planning and forecasting
  • Estimating cash flows from a business project
  • Determining the value of a project or business
  • Building a financial plan
