Who We Are

Networking Infrastructure is the unit of CTIS that is responsible for the planning, maintenance, and security of the network environment within the Purdue University Calumet and ACLT campuses, as well as the University Village. Our staff is dedicated to ensuring that the quality of network services remains high, and usable for everyone.

Services Available

The main function of Network Infrastructure is to provide a fast, secure, reliable data network for the faculty, staff, and students of Purdue Calumet.
To that end, the services we provide include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Plan and manage the evolution of the campus data network
  • Install and maintain switches, routers, and wireless AP’s
  • Install and maintain network security devices
  • Serve as campus liaison to West Lafeyette and network service providers
  • Implement and oversee enterprise network management tools
  • Provide distribution of IP services
  • Maintain Quality Of Service
  • Problem Notification
  • Cable infrastructure management
  • Coordinate remote access to the campus Network via firewall and VPN

Information About Specific Services

Requesting Network Cables

In addition to the services listed above, we also provide the university populace with the networking cables needed to connect your computer to the outside world.
In order to get you the proper type of networking cable, please log in a ticket through Bridgetrak. Additionally, we need the following information when you are requesting cables:

  • Your name and contact information
  • Bldg of where you want the cable
  • Room # where you want the cable
  • Account number is needed after the estimate is done
  • Whether or not this for a Project
  • Whether or not this for a new occupant or printer

Normal completion time frame is 2 weeks.
If it is for a printer, then Desktop Support will need to give you costs for additional hardware that may be required (ie. Jetdirect).
