Main Computer Lab

Who We Are

The Main Computer lab, located in the main floor of the Powers building (Powers 115), is the unit of CTIS that provides the majority of the open computers available for student use.
In today’s fast-paced school environment, students need a personal resource – an on campus place to use technology. The PUC Powers Main Computer Lab is a place where consultants offer students reliable tips and tools to assist with in-class performance and assignments. We are not only a student’s technology companion, but we are also a trusted tool.

Services Available

The Main Computer Lab provides students with the following hardware:

PC computers
iMacs
Monochrome laser printers
Scanners
DVD burners
VHS machines connected to computers for video editing

The Main Computer Lab also takes reservations for two separate student project rooms, so students can work in groups and have the use of an overhead LCD, whiteboard, and a dedicated printer.

Computers in the Main Computer Lab accept the following types of storage devices:

3.5” high-density diskette
100mb or 250mb Zip diskette
USB (flash drive) device
CDR

If you do not have a storage device with you, you can save your work to your personal H: drive.
There is also wireless networking available throughout campus for those who prefer to use their personal laptops.

Locations of Computer Clusters

There are several locations you can find computers on Campus. If you do not need to print, CTIS has provided students with several clusters of computers located throughout campus. To learn where to find computers available for use outside of the main lab, please click here.
