Center for Student Achievement – Home

Center for Student Achievement serves several functions within the university community in order to help students realize their academic potential and to reach their career goals.

Center for Student Achievement advisors orient and assist students who are undecided about a major, students who have academic deficiencies, temporary and transfer students and high school Rule 10 students.

CSA staff works actively to cultivate relationships and create effective programs in surrounding area high schools and community colleges. Programs include Bridge (2+2) Brainstorm Conference, Summer Transition Program and various summer camps, as well as advisory communities.

Center for Student Achievement, in conjunction with the Center for Career Leadership and Development develops key partnerships. These partnerships are with corporations and regional employers in order to cultivate internship opportunities that are integral to the majors Purdue Calumet students are pursuing.

The Tutoring Center provides free tutoring services for most courses on campus. The center also offers Supplemental Instruction in selected courses. Students may opt to take advantage of these services.

The Skills Assessment Center provides admission testing for graduate and undergraduate students through the administration of appropriate tests. Some of the exams administered are SAT, ACT, placement testing and in mathematics, reading and English, CLEP and Foreign Language Placement Exams.
