The Counseling Center is staffed by licensed mental health professionals and counselors under their supervision.
Kenneth Jackson, Ph.D., N.C.CDirector, Counseling Center Gyte Building 005 219-989-2366 kjackson@calumet.purdue.edu Dr. Jackson received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the School of Education at Loyola University Chicago. He also holds a M.A. from Northeastern Illinois University Chicago in Community and Family Counseling. His B.S. degree is from Indiana Wesleyan University in Art Education. Dr. Jackson’s interests and experience include working with individuals experiencing various transitions in their lives, and works with individuals with mood disorders, adjustment disorders, loss and grief, and relationship concerns. Dr. Jackson’s work incorporates a developmental perspective, targeting various aspects for change, growth and development within a cognitive behavioral framework.Dr. Jackson is a National Certified Counselor, N.C.C. with the National Board for Certified Counselors, and is a member of American Psychologist Association, A.P.A., and American Counseling Association, A.C.A. In addition to treatment services, Dr. Jackson provides training and clinical supervision for Counselors in Training during their clinical practicum and internship experiences. |
Deborah Wade, M.A., L.M.H.C.Counselor, Counseling Center Gyte Building 005 219-989-2366 wade@calumet.purdue.edu Ms. Wade received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Indiana University Northwest. Shortly after, she obtained a Master of Arts and Liberal Studies degree in Clinical Psychology from Valparaiso University. In addition, she received a certificate in Family Therapy from the Institute of Juvenile Research in Chicago, Illinois. Deborah received her mental health counselor’s license from the state of Indiana Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist and Mental Health Counselor Board. In addition, she is an active member of the Northwest Indiana Suicide Prevention Council and the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction; All hazards District Mental health Response Team. She specializes in a variety of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, and relationship concerns. |
Ryan N. Parsons-Rozycki, M.S.Counselor, Counseling Center Gyte Building 005 219-989-2366 parsonsr@calumet.purdue.edu Ryan received her Master’s of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Purdue University Calumet after completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Youth, Adult, and Family Services with an emphasis in Child Life from Purdue University in West Lafayette. She currently has an article entitled, Identity development, differentiation, personal authority, and degree of religiosity as predictors of interfaith marital satisfaction set to be published in the American Journal of Family Therapy (July 2007) and co-authored a book chapter that will be in an ethics book (in press). Ryan has expertise in numerous areas with special interest in substance abuse, relationships, families, and eating disorders. Finally, Ryan is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and a member of Indiana’s District One Mental Health Task Force. |
