Mock Interview Marathon Success!

Thank you to the 30 students and 5 corporate representatives from NiSource, ArcelorMittal, Standard Banks, US Steel, and Tri-State Industries who helped make our Mock Interview Marathon a success.

The Mock Interviews took place on Monday, April 20th and received positive reviews from all participants.

Additionally, any student who participated who did not receive a hard copy feedback form may come to the Office of Career Services to pick up the document.

 

The 2008-09 Career Success Guide is Now Available

Come to the Office of Career Services, SUL 349 to pick up your 2008-2009 Career Success Guide.  This years guide if filled with information and tips on how to be successful in your job search.The 2008-2009 Career Success Guide is hot off the press and ready for students in SUL 349. The Career Success Guide serves as a hands-on guide to take students through the job search and recruitment process and is fully integrated into Purdue University Calumet’s career development and planning program. Students at other universities rank guides such as this as their most useful resource for career planning, job placement and on-campus interviews. New updated resumes, information on business correspondence, and professional work experiences are just some of the additions to this year’s guide.

“According to a recent poll conducted by CollegeGrad.com, the #1 entry level job site on the Web, 69 percent of college grad job seekers either don’t have a resume or say theirs needs help. Having a strong resume is key for new job seekers when searching for employment, especially during tough economic times.” Read more.

To create a new resume, browse the Writing Letters & Resume section of our comprehensive library, then visit our office in SUL 349 to check out a book. While you’re here, you can use our free ResumeMaker program to produce and print out a resume draft in a few easy steps.

After completing your resume (or if you already have one of your own), plan to attend one of our walk-in Resume and Cover Letter Review Sessions to fine-tune your resume with the help of our experienced staff. Walk-in sessions are available at the following times:

Tuesdays: 10 AM and 2 PM
Wednesdays: 12 and 6 PM*
Thursdays: 9 AM and 4 PM
