REC CENTER — In the second half, the Peregrines offense clicked at just under 40 percent from the field. But they couldn’t overcome a 26 percent shooting performance in the first 20 minutes leading to a 74-61 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference loss to Judson University on Saturday in the first of two homecoming games.
The Peregrines (6-21, 2-5 CCAC) struggled from the field to open the game and failed to hit the double-digit mark until eight-plus minutes into the first half, which led to a 15-point deficit at the break.

REC CENTER — A pair of seniors and Peregrine captains showed off their roles as team leaders in a 72-65 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory Thursday night against Trinity Christian College.
Shannon Dugan (Mother McAuley, Chicago) had her best performance wearing a Peregrine uniform hitting 58 percent from the field leading the team with 19 points, 10 rebounds and the only three shot blocks of the game. And her senior counterpart, Linsey Smith (Lake Central), who leads the team scoring 14.7 per game, and the CCAC scoring 16.8 ppg, dropped in 16 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds leading the Peregrines in the conference win.

HAMMOND, Ind. – Retired Purdue University Calumet athletic director John Friend and alumna and former basketball player Brenda (Clark) Drook will be honored during Purdue University Calumet homecoming festivities on campus Saturday.
Friend, who headed Purdue Calumet’s athletic program from 1980 until his retirement in 2001 and also served as athletics consultant last year, will be introduced as the charter inductee of the Purdue Calumet Athletic Hall of Fame. The recognition will take place between games of the Purdue Calumet-Judson College women’s-men’s doubleheader. Tip-off for each game is at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively.
