MILWAUKEE, Wisc. — Cardinal Stritch University ran its winning streak to seven Wednesday night and kept its unblemished conference record intact with the 86-57 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference win over the Peregrines.
The Wolves (18-4, 5-0 CCAC) opened the first half shooting 50 percent from the field, including six from the 3-point stripe, and held a 42-19 lead at the break. And in the second half, they improved to 64 percent from the field keeping the Peregrines in the rearview mirror.
Sophomore Sara Keilman (Morton) tied for game-high scoring honors with 16. The 6-1 forward hit 71 percent of her shots from the field and 85 percent from the free throw line.
Senior co-captain Linsey Smith (Lake Central) hit three 3-pointers and finished with 15 points. Freshman Chrissy Lobodinski led the team grabbing six rebounds, and she scored nine points in the loss. Junior guard Nicole Enright (Munster) chipped in seven points in 15 minutes of action.
The Peregrines host Trinity Christian College next Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the first of two games with the men playing at 7 p.m.
The first 100 fans will get a box of candy, and one lucky couple will win a Valentine’s Day dinner during the game. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for ages 12-18, and free for ages 11 and under and PUC students with a current school photo ID.
