Former Hebron guard, Freund, signs with Lady Peregrines

HAMMOND, Ind. – Sophomore Heidi Freund, a 5-8 guard from Hebron, officially signed to play with Purdue University Calumet for the coming basketball season. Freund was among statistical leaders in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals during her senior year in high school.

Freund was an all area honorable mention player, and she ranked fourth overall in the area with 4.2 steals per game and seventh overall handing out 4.2 assists per game.

Freund is the seventh player to commit to the PUC women’s basketball team since the conclusion of the 2006-07 season. Lady Peregrine head coach Tom Megyesi was pleased with the late signing. (more…)
