Indiana University South Bend slips past Lady Peregrines, 63-55

REC CENTER – Two minutes were left in the contest and the Lady Peregrines trailed 59-55 following a pair of Jessica Hamman (Highland) free throws. But the offense, which clicked along in the first half at 46 percent and dropped off a bit to 42 percent for the first 18 minutes of the second half, fell to zero in the final two minutes. No one could find the bottom of the basket as the Lady Peregrines (6-20 overall, 1-8 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference) lost to I.U. South Bend, 63-55, in a game postponed from Tuesday night.Hamman’s free throws with 2:38 to play kept the Lady Peregrines within striking distance and forced the Lady Titans (8-19, 4-6) into a timeout. After the timeout, Jennifer VanderZanden (Lake Central), the game’s leading scorer with 17 points, connected on a layup for a 61-55 lead. (more…)

Third ranked St. Xavier beats Lady Peregrines, sweeps season series

CHICAGO – Freshman Sara Keilman (Morton) gave the Lady Peregrines an early lead, 1-0, less than 20 seconds into the contest when she hit one of two free throws. And at the 18:03 mark, sophomore LaKeisha Hurst (Dover, Del.) knotted the game at 3-3 after a lay-up. But then the offensive juggernaut known as the St. Xavier Cougars took charge and were never threatened in the 79-56 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference win against the Lady Peregrines. Freezing temperatures outside effect Lady Peregrine offense inside

REC CENTER – Field goals were sparse for the Lady Peregrines in both halves of Thursday’s Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference against Robert Morris. Junior Linsey Smith (Lake Central) hit PUC’s first field goal three minutes in to the game. Five minutes later, sophomore LaKeisha Hurst (Dover, Del.) hit the Lady Peregrines’ second field goal of the game. And another nine minutes elapsed before a Lady Peregrines’ third field goal went through the net. (more…)

TCC slaps an unlucky 13 on Lady Peregrines, cruise to 72-56 victory

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Lady Peregrine offense struggled in the opening minutes of the first half, while Trinity Christian College rolled out to a 13-0 lead in the first 90 seconds of action. Purdue University Calumet was never able to recover from the 13-point disadvantage and fell 72-56 in a nonconference contest. (more…)
