EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. — It’s not often the Peregrines get an opportunity to play against NCAA Division I opponents, but they got the chance Wednesday visiting the Cougars. The Peregrines had trouble defensively in the first half allowing 60 points en route to the 88-55 loss.
Sophomore guard Robert Williams (Gary West Side) tied for team-high scoring honors finishing with 13 points, nearly doubling his 6.9 per game average this season. Williams also had three assists and three rebounds in the loss.
Off the bench, sophomore Antonio Hurt (Michigan City) also scored 13 points and grabbed four rebounds. Hurt leads the Peregrines averaging 12.6 points per game, and is averaging five rebounds per game.
Senior center Kevin Thomas (Highland) also cracked the double digit column scoring 10 points hitting 50 percent from the field, and he pulled down five rebounds. Thomas is averaging six points and 6.3 rebounds per game this season.
