HAMMOND, Ind. (July 22, 2008) – One week after Dan Voudrie was hired to coach the men’s basketball team, three high school players assured him they would wear Peregrine black and gold for the 2008-09 season.
Six-foot-six forward Jarrid Bradley averaged 13.4 points and 10.5 rebounds per game during his senior season at MacOnaquah High School in Peru, Ind. TF North, Calumet City, Ill., graduate Wayne Montgomery, a 6-7 center, averaged 6.8 points and 5.1 rebounds for the Meteors last season. Eric Schooler, a 6-2 guard from Bishop Noll, averaged 11.1 points 6.6 assists and 4.2 steals per game for the Warriors. Schooler was named to The Times All-Area Boys Basketball Second Team for the 2007-08 season.
All three were recruited last spring by former coach Grayling Gordon who resigned at the end of a 6-23 season.
