HAMMOND, Ind. — Calumet College of St. Jospeh was looking for a little payback after being upset in January on the Peregrines homecourt . And the Crimson Wave earned the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference split with a 16-point win at the Hammond Civic Center on Wednesday night.
The Crimson Wave hit 64 percent from the field in the second half, including a 75 percent success rate from the 3-point stripe, leading to the conference win. The Peregrines (5-20, 3-6 CCAC), who trailed by as much at 21 points in the second half, closed the gap to 11 points in the closing minutes hitting five 3-pointers.

REC CENTER — One Peregrine freshman hit the game-winning free throw and a second freshman sealed the win, also from the charity stripe, in the 94-90 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference win against conference-leading Judson University on PUC’s homecoming Saturday.
Justin Latimore (Indianapolis North Central) went to the free throw line twice in the final 33 seconds and hit 2-of-4 attempts for the game winning points, and Josh Collins (MacArthur, San Antonio, Tex.) finished the deal hitting a pair of free throws with two ticks left handing the Eagles back-to-back overtime losses and their second conference loss.

REC CENTER — With 24 seconds remaining in the third overtime, Trinity Christian College’s Will Bruinsma hit his only successful 3-pointer of the night on seven tries to give his squad an 86-84 lead, which proved to be the game winner.
The Peregrines had one more shot in the closing seconds but missed, and Trinity added a pair of free throws with six seconds left for the 88-84 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference win Thursday night.
Freshman point guard Josh Collins (MacArthur, San Antonio, Tex.) forced the third overtime when he cut to the lane and hit a six-foot pull-up jumper with four ticks left in the second overtime knotting the score at 75-75. TCC’s final shot fell short sending the contest to the third overtime.

HAMMOND, Ind. – Retired Purdue University Calumet athletic director John Friend and alumna and former basketball player Brenda (Clark) Drook will be honored during Purdue University Calumet homecoming festivities on campus Saturday.
Friend, who headed Purdue Calumet’s athletic program from 1980 until his retirement in 2001 and also served as athletics consultant last year, will be introduced as the charter inductee of the Purdue Calumet Athletic Hall of Fame. The recognition will take place between games of the Purdue Calumet-Judson College women’s-men’s doubleheader. Tip-off for each game is at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively.
