Peregrines stumble on the road, 96-84

FT. WAYNE, Ind. — A pair of Taylor University players combined for 52 points in Saturday’s contest en route to a 96-84 nonconference win against the Peregrines. Sophomore Montrel Hogue scored 27 points and junior transfer Ryan Woods added 25, including four 3-pointers to seal the win.

The Peregrines (0-2) were within eight points in the final five minutes, but the Falcons offense was in cruise control and stretched the lead to double digits in the final two minutes to ice the game.

Freshman Josh Collins (San Antonio, Tex.) led the Peregrines with 24 points, which included a 6-of-9 performance from the 3-point stripe; a 66 percent success rate in 26 minutes of action.  (more…)

Thomas, Patton score 19 each, but Peregrines drop home opener

REC CENTER (November 1, 2007) – Junior center Kevin Thomas (Highland) and freshman guard Michael Patton (West Side) combined for 38 points against the University of St. Francis in the second game of the Kettle Classic on Thursday night. But the duo’s efforts could not stop the outburst from Chris Hobson, which included a 16-point second half as the Fighting Saints handed the Peregrines an 89-65 loss in both teams’ season opener.
