Gordon returns to Purdue Calumet as Peregrines men’s head coach

HAMMOND, Ind. - Grayling Gordon, a former Purdue University Calumet assistant coach who led Purdue North Central to its first winning men’s basketball season in 2006-07, has been appointed men’s head basketball coach at Purdue Calumet. Gordon, 40, an East Chicago native and former high school standout at EC Washington, returns to Purdue Calumet after a five-year stint at Purdue North Central. During that time, the Panthers improved from 3-26 his first season in 2002-03 to last season’s 15-14 mark.
“I am excited to return to Purdue Calumet, and I look forward to the opportunities there,” he said. “I was there when Purdue Calumet achieved a great deal of success, and I don’t think we’re very far from doing that again.” (more…)
