REC CENTER – James Washington (Arsenal Tech) hit the second of two free throws with 16.4 seconds to play in overtime and put the Peregrines up 96-95. A little more than 10 seconds later, team captain Minuyard Wheeler (Wirt) sealed the deal by hitting nothing but the bottom of the net with a pair of free throws for a 98-95 lead with 3.6 seconds remaining. The Peregrine defense forced East-West University guard Rodney Williams to take a wild 3-point shot that missed badly at the buzzer and gave PUC (1-1) its first win of the season. (more…)
