The Purdue Alumni Calumet Student Delegates (PACSD) is an organization which fulfills many roles. It provides a valuable service to its members, students who are not members, and the community.
Students who are members in PACSD receive opportunities and experiences that non-member students do not. We have a focus on networking and provide our members with access to Purdue Alumni Calumet (PAC) events at which they can meet successful alumni, practice their networking skills, and see what they can do with a Purdue University Calumet education. Some events are more formal than what students typically see on a day-to-day basis, so members can gain experience in dressing professionally, dining, and conversation during networking opportunities. These offerings are unique in a student organization, and they can aid a student’s professional growth, both while they are in school and after they complete their degree.
Non-member students also benefit from PACSD’s presence on campus. We annually hold Senior Send-Off Day for seniors graduating in the spring. In addition, we also hold pre-commencement activities at the Radisson Star Plaza at graduation. PACSD provides an important link from the student body to the PUC alumni board and its members.
We help the community with our ever-changing community service activities. Ideas for new activities are encouraged in the group, and members are given significant freedom to formulate, organize, and see their community service activities though.
